**Đừng dựa vào cái tên Michael Learns To Rock mà vội kết luận họ chỉ tập tành hát hò theo phong trào. Trên thực tế, nhóm nhạc này đã rất thành công và khẳng định được vị thế của riêng mình trong làng âm nhạc thế giới đầy cạnh tranh và nhiều nhân tài. **

Michael Learns To Rock thường được biết đến dưới cái tên MLTR. Là một nhóm nhạc Pop gốc Đan Mạch hát những ca khúc mang âm hưởng Rock bằng tiếng Anh. Các thành viên sáng lập nên nhóm bao gồm ca sĩ kiêm nhạc công keyboard, Jascha Richter (sinh ngày 24 tháng 6 năm 1963); tay trống Kåre Wanscher (sinh ngày 14 tháng 6 năm 1969); nhạc công chơi guitar, Mikkel Lentz (sinh ngày 20 tháng 12 năm 1968) và nhạc công chơi bass/guitar, Søren Madsen (sinh ngày 23 tháng 4 năm 1967). Tuy nhiên, sau 9 năm hoạt động chung với nhóm, Madsen rời nhóm để theo đuổi sự nghiệp hát solo. Sau đó nhóm vẫn tiếp tục hoạt động và cho ra đời một album mới với 3 thành viên còn lại.

Michael Learns to Rock thành lập năm 1988. 6 năm sau, nhóm được biết đến nhiều nhất qua đĩa đơn "That's Why (You Go Away)" đặc biệt tại Châu Âu và Châu Á, nơi mà nhiều album của họ đoạt giải album bạch kim và vàng. Năm 2004, nhóm cho ra đời ca khúc hát lại của Jacky Cheung, "Take Me To Your Heart". Bài hát này đã chinh phục trái tim của hàng triệu bạn trẻ tại các nước như Trung Quốc đại lục, Hong Kong, Việt Nam và Đài Loan. Âm nhạc của MLTR được miêu tả giống như xu hướng âm nhạc Scandinavi hội nhập với nền âm nhạc Pop thế giới cùng với những ông lớn khác như The Beatles, The Eagles, Elton John và Billy Joel. Album “Michael Learns To Rock” lần đầu xuất hiện trên thị trường âm nhạc vào tháng 9 năm 1991. Sau đó 1 năm, họ thực hiện một chuyến lưu diễn vòng quanh Đan Mạch và một số nước Châu Á. Bộn thu lợi nhuận, thành công rực rỡ, họ được nhiều khán giả yêu mến bởi phong cách biểu diễn cũng như lối hát dễ nghe. Jascha Richter vẫn là tác giả của nhiều ca khúc trong album thứ hai có tên gọi Colours phát hành tháng 10 năm 1993. Lại một lần nữa danh tiếng của nhóm lên một tầm cao mới với các hit như "Sleeping Child". Trong vòng 18 tháng tới, ban nhạc sẽ đi lưu diễn vòng quanh thế giới. Colours ra mắt tại Châu Âu và Châu Á còn các ca khúc hit như "Sleeping Child", "25 Minutes" và "Out of the Blue" giúp MLTR trở thành ban nhạc đứng đầu tại các list, đem về cho họ vị trí vàng và bạch kim tại nhiều bảng xếp hạng.

1995 là năm chứng kiến sự ra đời của album thứ 3 “Played On Pepper”. Tháng 10 trong năm đó, nhóm có một tour diễn hoành tráng vòng quanh Châu Á với 25 show tại 10 quốc gia. Played On Pepper bán được hơn 1,2 triệu bản trên toàn thế giới. Hơn 3,4 triệu bản là con số mà album "Paint My Love" mang về. MLTR được chọn là nhóm nhạc hàng đầu tại các buổi hòa nhạc và lễ hội ở Hong Kong và Trung Quốc. Khi MLTR bắt tay vào sản xuất album thứ 5 mùa xuân năm 2000, Søren Madsen quyết định rời nhóm thử sức mình trong sự nghiệp hát solo. Richter, Lentz và Wanscher buộc phải tiếp tục công việc đang còn dang dở. Kết quả của những nỗ lực đó là "Blue Night" vào năm 2000. "Blue Night" trở thành một hiện tượng lớn của MLTR. Paint My Love (1996): Tính đến tháng 9 năm 1998, album bán được hơn 3,4 triệu bản trên toàn thế giới. Nothing To Lose (1997): Hơn 1,1 triệu bản bán ra trên thị trường âm nhạc toàn cầu. **Blue Night (2000): **Album phát hành ngày 1 tháng 11 năm 2000 tại Đan Mạch, sau đó vài tháng khán giả yêu nhạc thế giới được thưởng thức những ca khúc tuyệt vời trong album này. Album Eternity - MLTR

Default - Michael Learns To Rock - Eternity ...
Kể từ sau ca khúc làm điên đảo châu Á "Take Me To Your Heart" ko thấy MLTR có hoạt động gì nữa, mới đó đã 4 năm, tuy đã khá lâu nhưng mình vẫn còn nghe giai điệu của "Take Me To Your Heart" ở đâu đó trong cuộc sống. 4 năm là quá đủ để MLTR back lại.Những ai còn yêu mến những giai điệu tuyệt vời như 25 Minutes, Sleeping Child, Take Me To Your Heart, ... thì ko thể bỏ qua album này. Trời ơi, nhớ Michael quá luôn, anh hùng 1 thuở mà, hồi trước toàn nghe nhạc Michael thôi ! Nhìn cover thì thấy các anh vẫn còn phong độ lắm , nhớ chất giọng ấm áp của Jascha Richter quá đi mất . Túm lại là ko thể bỏ qua album này . Eternity, Family Tree, When Tomorrow Comes, Walk with Me ... là những track đáng nghe, song nào cũng hay cả ...

Ban nhạc đã lấy tên là Michael Learns To Rock theo phong cách đặt tên ban nhạc rộng rãi lúc bấy giờ, chẳng hạn có một số nhóm nhạc tên: Frankie Goes To Hollywood hay Johnny Hates Jazz. Và trong một khoảnh khắc đầy cảm xúc tên ban nhạc đã xuất hiện !

Còn Michael là ai ư ? Không một ai biết rõ điều đó. Có thể không là ai cả hoặc có thể là bất cứ ai.

Kỷ lục của ban nhạc: Biểu diễn tại 6 thành phố khác nhau ở Denmark trong một đêm – đó là đêm đón mừng năm mới năm 1991.

Chú ý : Các mốc thời gian, các tên bài hát, tên riêng trong bài viết này có thể sai lệch 1 chút xíu (Vì Vân đâu phải là siêu nhân đâu, phải có nhầm lẫn chứ) , tên Đan Mạch thật là khó viết, chảng hạn như cầu thủ Jesper Gronkjaer viết thành Jesper Grønkjaer.

Một sự kiện lớn đã xảy ra với MLTR, khi vào mùa xuân 2000, trong khi đang chuẩn bị cho album thứ 5 thì Søren Madsen đột nhiên quyết định rời nhóm để thực hiện sự nghiệp solo của mình. Ba thành viên còn lại mà cũng là ba thành viên đã khởi đầu cho ban nhạc MLTR huyền thoại vẫn tiếp tục với công việc của họ. Cũng như các album trước, MLTR không thuê những nhà sản xuất lớn mà tin tưởng vào bản thân cũng với sự xuất sắc của nhạc sĩ, người tổ chức và sản xuất người Denmark - Boe Larsen. Cùng với MLTR, Boe Larsen đã tìm ra một hướng đi âm nhạc mới và thánh thức các đối thủ cạnh tranh với họ. Kết quả là album "Blue Night" đã ra đời và đem lại thành công vang dội cho MLTR. Doanh thu cho đĩa hát này đạt gần tới mức bạch kim, đồng thời giúp họ đứng đầu các bảng xếp hạng ở châu Á cũng như một số nước ở châu Âu.

Vào đầu nằm 2003, các thành viên của ban nhạc lại tụ họp với nhau để chuẩn bị cho album thứ 6 của họ - album này đã được phát hành vào tháng 2 – 2004 mang tên "Michael Learns To Rock". Và ca khúc Take me to your heart cũng là hit của album mới này...

Có thể thấy cứ mỗi lần giới âm nhạc tưởng chừng MLTR sẽ mãi im lặng và đã đạt đến giới hạn của họ thì MLTR lại trở lại làng âm nhạc thế giới với những nhạc phẩm mới và phong cách mới khuấy động tâm hồn giới mộ điệu. Album thứ 6 mang tên "Michael Learns To Rock" trùng tên với đĩa nhạc đầu tiên của họ. Phải chăng MLTR lại chỉ mới bắt đầu ? Đó chính là sức sống và tài năng của MLTR !

Không có nhiều ca khúc bất hủ như ABBA, The Beatles, Bee Gees, Cũng không nổi trội như Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, N'sync, không vĩ đại bằng WESTLIFE nhưng MLTR đã để lại dấu ấn riêng cho khán giả với phong cách POP dễ nghe, dễ đi vào lòng người. Đã 11 năm trôi qua kể từ khi MLTR đến VN biểu diễn tại Giảng Võ Hà Nội và sân QK7 ở TP Hồ Chí Minh, dư âm của những tiếng cổ vũ, những tiếng hát theo vang dội vẫn còn nóng như vừa xảy ra ít phút trước thôi.

Tại sao ban nhạc lại lấy tên là Michael Learns To Rock ? Michael là ai ?

Ban nhạc đã lấy tên là Michael Learns To Rock theo phong cách đặt tên ban nhạc rộng rãi lúc bấy giờ, chẳng hạn có một số nhóm nhạc tên: Frankie Goes To Hollywood hay Johnny Hates Jazz. Và trong một khoảnh khắc đầy cảm xúc tên ban nhạc đã xuất hiện !

Còn Michael là ai ư ? Không một ai biết rõ điều đó. Có thể không là ai cả hoặc có thể là bất cứ ai.

Kỷ lục của ban nhạc: Biểu diễn tại 6 thành phố khác nhau ở Denmark trong một đêm – đó là đêm đón mừng năm mới năm 1991.

Chú ý : Các mốc thời gian, các tên bài hát, tên riêng trong bài viết này có thể sai lệch 1 chút xíu (Vì Vân đâu phải là siêu nhân đâu, phải có nhầm lẫn chứ) , tên Đan Mạch thật là khó viết, chảng hạn như cầu thủ Jesper Gronkjaer viết thành Jesper Grønkjaer.
